RV Maintenance
- ROOF
A Top Priority – The roof should be checked every 6 months and maintenance performed when necessary to help prevent cracks, separation and water leaks.
- GUTTER EXTENSIONS
Checking these can reduce leaks in the sidewalls which can be a major issue if left undetected.
- AC SYSTEMS
It’s important to run Delta-T tests plus checking the fins will help them run at maximum cooling capacity.
- PROPANE OR LP TANK
It is very important to check for propane leaks and to keep the system in top working condition for peace-of-mind.
- WATER HEATERS
This needs to be flushed at least once a year to prevent sediment build up in the system. Installing dauber screens will prevent mud daubers from building nests which can inhibit air flow in water heaters and furnaces.
- REFRIGERATOR
The cooling coils and baffles need to be checked periodically to ensure the proper cooling capacity.
- ELECTRICAL
There are (3) three electrical systems on a coach – AC power, DC power and Chassis power. It’s paramount to regularly check these systems to make sure everything is in proper operation, especially for major systems such as slide-outs.
- HOT-SKIN TESTING
This is a major life safety issue that many people aren’t aware of. Its stray voltage on the exterior of the RV and if there’s an undetected short in your electrical system, and If you touch the body of the RV, it can cause electrocution. This vital test is provided in all of our inspection packages. We also offer this as a stand-alone test as part of our maintenance check.
- DETECTORS
- TIRES
NTSB (National Transportation Safety Board) recommends changing your tires every 6 years no matter the mileage for safety. This will help prevent blow-outs and being stranded on the side of the road.
- EMERGENCY EXIT WINDOWS
These usually get overlooked but they need to be tested on a regular basis so you’re not trapped inside the coach if an RV fire or another life-threatening situation should happen.
IT’S IMPORTANT TO SCHEDULE A MAINTENANCE AND SAFETY CHECK SO YOUR TRAVELS WILL BE SAFE AND ENJOYABLE.
